Canva Pro in India: price, plans and the student question
Canva has four ways to use it in India: Canva Free, Canva Pro for one person, team plans for people who design together, and Canva for Education, which is free for eligible school teachers and their students. Canva's pricing page shows rupee prices for Pro and team plans, but it blocks automated checks and published figures disagree, so we don't quote a number we can't stand behind. Instead, this page shows how to see your exact Canva Pro price in India in under a minute, what Pro adds over Free, who really qualifies for free Education access, and how a Canva group on Subspace splits the cost.

How to check the Canva Pro price in India
The checkout screen is the only place that shows what you will actually pay, including GST and any introductory offer on your account.
- 1Sign in to Canva from India and open the Pricing page.
- 2Switch between monthly and yearly billing to compare; yearly normally costs less per month.
- 3Choose Pro for yourself, or a team plan if several people need their own seats. Team plans are priced per person.
- 4If Canva offers you a free Pro trial, note the date it converts to paid.
- 5Before paying, check the renewal amount and date on the checkout screen.
Canva plans compared
Most people should start on Free and upgrade only when they keep hitting a locked template, photo or tool. Pro is built for one person. If two or more people need to edit the same brand assets, a team plan gives each person their own login and shared folders.
| Plan | Who it is for | What it adds | Price in India |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canva Free | Anyone | Free templates, basic editing, limited storage | ₹0 |
| Canva Pro | One person | Premium templates, photos and graphics, Brand Kit, background remover, one-click resize | Shown on Canva’s pricing page |
| Team plans | Two or more people | Pro features plus shared brand assets, collaboration and admin controls | Per person, shown on Canva’s pricing page |
| Canva for Education | Eligible K-12 teachers and the students they invite | Premium features for classroom use | ₹0 |
Canva Pro and students: who gets it free
Not for college students. Canva's free education programme covers currently employed K-12 teachers (plus school librarians, learning-support staff and curriculum specialists) and K-12 students invited by an eligible teacher. Canva's help centre says college and university students and parents are not eligible.
If you are at college, you have three realistic options: ask your institution whether it has a Canva licence for students, stay on Canva Free, which covers most coursework, or share the cost of Pro with others through a group. Teachers should apply through Canva for Education, which asks for proof that you currently teach.
When Canva Pro is worth paying for
- Pay for Pro if you post on social media for a brand, need your logo, fonts and colours saved in a Brand Kit, remove photo backgrounds often, or resize one design into many formats every week.
- Stay on Free if you make occasional posters, invitations or presentations. The free template library is large enough for most one-off designs.
- Go for a team plan if several people edit the same designs and you need control over who can publish.
