Console rental rates
The Xbox Series S is the cheapest way in, and several listings bundle Game Pass. PS5 rentals cost more and vary with what comes in the box: extra controllers, a game library through EA Play and PS Plus, a racing wheel, or a projector for a big-screen setup. Bundles built around a brand-new release cost the most.

Decide who is playing and on what screen. A solo weekend, a four-player FIFA night and a racing session each call for a different bundle.
| Occasion | Setup | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Solo weekend binge | Xbox Series S with Game Pass | Cheapest entry, large library through Game Pass |
| Friends over for FIFA or cricket | PS5 with FC26 and 4 controllers, PS5 Friends Combo | Enough controllers for everyone |

| Racing fans | PS5 + Logitech G29 wheel (and shifter) | Wheel and pedals change how racing games feel |
| Trying VR | PS VR2, Meta Quest 3 or 3S | Test motion comfort before buying a headset |
| PC games and streaming | Gaming PC with RTX 3060 to 4080, or an MSI gaming laptop | High frame rates on a 144 Hz or 240 Hz monitor |
Renting games and game libraries
Many console listings include a game library, so you aren't stuck with one disc. PS5 listings advertise EA Play and PS Plus Extra, and Xbox listings bundle Game Pass, which between them cover hundreds of titles. A few listings are built around a single new release, and add-ons such as PS Plus, EA Play and individual games are listed separately for people renting a console.

Renting vs buying a PS5
The PS5 Slim disc edition launched in India at ₹54,990, and 2026 reports put its MRP higher still. Add a second controller and a couple of games and you're well past that. If you play in bursts, such as a week for a new release or a weekend when friends visit, renting covers those days for a fraction of the cost. Buying wins if you game most days of the year.

Purchase price is the India launch price of the PS5 Slim disc edition reported by Business Today on 2 April 2024; 2026 reports suggest a higher MRP, which pushes the break-even further out. Renting stays cheaper for about 80 days of play.

Before you return a console
A console stores your account, payment details and saves. Five minutes of housekeeping protects all three.
- 1Sign in with your own PlayStation Network or Xbox account so trophies and progress stay with you.
- 2Turn on cloud saves (PS Plus on PlayStation; automatic on Xbox) so you can carry progress to another console.
- 3Don’t save a card on the console; if you buy anything, remove the payment method afterwards.
- 4Before return, sign out and delete your user profile from the console settings.
- 5Pack controllers, cables, wheel pedals and any projector remote back in the box and count them against the listing.
