Two things decide the picture: how dark the room gets and what you're showing. Slides need brightness more than resolution. Films and live sport need resolution and contrast, and they look far better once the lights are off and the curtains drawn. Throw distance matters too: measure how far back the projector can sit from the wall before you pick a spot.

A white wall works, but a proper screen gives sharper edges and more even brightness, and the rental screen stands on its own tripod so you aren't hunting for nails. Projector speakers are small; for a match or a party, add a Bluetooth speaker from speakers on rent.

Most projectors take HDMI. A laptop connects directly. A phone needs the right adapter, and some streaming apps restrict screen mirroring, so a laptop or streaming stick is the reliable source for films and matches. Carry an extension board, because the nearest socket is rarely where the projector needs to sit.

If you screen a few matches or films a year, renting wins clearly. A decent Full HD or 4K home projector costs tens of thousands of rupees, and models age quickly as prices fall. Buying makes sense once you'd use one most weekends. A simple test: count the evenings you'd actually use it in a year and multiply by the daily rate.
