What PMUY households pay
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connections pay the same price at delivery and receive ₹300 per 14.2 kg refill as a direct benefit transfer to their bank account, pro rata for 5 kg cylinders. In Delhi that brings the effective cost of a refill down to about ₹642. About 10.33 crore PMUY connections had been issued by July 2025. The number of subsidised refills per year is set by the government for each financial year, so check the PMUY portal for the current limit.
The government says domestic LPG is sold below cost: the implied subsidy was around ₹210 per 14.2 kg cylinder in September 2026. Since 1 October 2026, a refill at this regulated price can be booked only after biometric Aadhaar authentication; see LPG e-KYC online.
