19 kg commercial LPG cylinder price after the 1 October 2026 revision

If you run a restaurant, a canteen or a tiffin service, the number that matters is the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder. From 1 October 2026 it costs ₹2,810 in Delhi, ₹2,764.50 in Mumbai, ₹2,954 in Kolkata and ₹2,983 in Chennai. The 1 October revision added between ₹62.50 and ₹70 depending on the city, and it was the second monthly increase in a row. Commercial cylinders carry no subsidy, so they cost far more per kilo than the domestic 14.2 kg cylinder. This page has the city-wise rates, the size of the latest hike, a per-kg comparison and how to plan for monthly revisions.

Where a commercial cylinder costs the most

Hyderabad is the most expensive of the six metros at ₹3,065, and Mumbai the cheapest at ₹2,764.50, a gap of about ₹300 a cylinder. For a kitchen that goes through several cylinders a week, that difference adds up quickly.

Commercial vs domestic: the cost per kg

In Delhi, a 19 kg commercial cylinder at ₹2,810 works out to about ₹148 per kg. A 14.2 kg domestic cylinder at ₹942 works out to about ₹66 per kg, less than half. The gap exists because domestic LPG is sold below cost: the government put the implied subsidy at around ₹210 per domestic cylinder in September 2026.

That gap is also why domestic cylinders are meant only for household kitchens. The government’s biometric Aadhaar authentication drive for domestic connections is aimed, in its own words, at stopping subsidised cylinders being diverted to commercial and industrial use. A business needs a commercial connection.

Planning for monthly revisions

Commercial prices are usually reviewed at the start of each month, and the last two revisions were both increases. A simple way to budget: multiply the latest change by the cylinders you use in a month. A Delhi restaurant using 10 cylinders a month pays ₹625 more after the October hike (10 × ₹62.50). One using 30 pays ₹1,875 more. In Kolkata, where the October rise was ₹70, the same 30-cylinder kitchen pays ₹2,100 more a month. Building a small buffer into menu prices is easier than repricing after every revision.

Check the new rate on the first of every month before you reorder, and compare it with your distributor’s invoice. For very small, occasional needs, such as a street stall or a pop-up counter, a market-priced 5 kg cylinder can be easier to manage; see the 5 kg cylinder price.

Ordering a commercial cylinder

Commercial connections are issued and supplied by oil company distributors. Ask your distributor for the current document list and deposit before you apply, and get a written quote.

  1. 1Find an Indane, Bharatgas or HP Gas distributor near your premises (see [LPG gas agency near me](/pay/lpg-gas-agency-near-me)).
  2. 2Ask for a commercial (19 kg) connection and the documents they need for your business.
  3. 3Agree the delivery schedule. Many kitchens keep one spare cylinder so a late delivery doesn’t stop service.
  4. 4Check each invoice against that month’s city price.
  5. 5For IndianOil commercial supplies, the commercial LPG helpline is 1860-5991-111. For leaks, call 1906.
