PhonePe refer and earn: how referrals work and how to check the offer
PhonePe has two ways to earn from referrals. Refer & Earn lets you invite friends to install and use PhonePe itself. The separate Earn section lets you refer partner apps and take surveys for brands, with rewards paid as e-gift vouchers. How to refer PhonePe to a friend
PhonePe’s help pages describe the invite flow below. Menu names move between app versions, so look for “Refer & Earn” or “Invite” on the home screen or in your profile.
- 1Open the PhonePe app and tap Refer & Earn. If you don’t see it, use the Invite option instead; a referral offer may not be running for your account.
- 2Choose how to share: WhatsApp, SMS or another app.
- 3Select the contacts you want to invite and send the link.
- 4Your friend installs PhonePe through your link and completes the actions the offer lists, such as setting up UPI and making a first payment.
- 5Any reward is shown in the app once PhonePe confirms the referral.
PhonePe Earn: referring partner apps
The Earn section works differently. You tap Earn on the home screen, pick a partner app, tap Refer and share the link. Each partner app has a “How it works” panel because the tasks differ: your friend may need to install the app and complete one or more specific actions. PhonePe’s terms describe these rewards as electronic gift vouchers, and its help pages have described them being added to your PhonePe Gift Card balance.

Finding the current PhonePe referral amount
PhonePe sets referral rewards per campaign and doesn’t list a standing amount on its public site. To see what you would earn today, open the Refer & Earn screen and read the offer card and its terms. For partner apps, open the app’s card in Earn and read “How it works”.
Deal and coupon sites often quote specific PhonePe referral amounts, but most of those listings have expired dates. PhonePe’s stock-broking app, Share.Market, runs its own referral programme with separate terms, so don’t assume its rewards apply to the main PhonePe app.
The yearly cap matters if you refer a lot. The chart shows how many paid referrals it would take to reach it at different reward levels.

Why a PhonePe referral reward may not arrive
- Your friend already had a PhonePe account, or installed the app before tapping your link.
- They didn’t finish every action the offer asked for, or missed its deadline.
- KYC or mobile verification is pending on your account.
- PhonePe flagged the referral, for example several accounts on one device or self-referral with a second number.
- You have reached the ₹9,999 yearly cap on Earn rewards.
- The referral is still being evaluated; PhonePe’s terms say timelines vary.
If none of these apply, raise it from the Help section in the app with your friend’s details and the date they joined.
Other referral offers worth comparing
