Choosing a mobile recharge app that gets the basics right
Every recharge app sends the same money to the same operator, so the differences are in the details. Does the app show the operator's current plans for your circle? Does it charge a fee? Does a failed recharge come back quickly? Can it handle your other bills too? This page is a practical checklist for picking a mobile recharge app, whether you call it the best app for mobile recharge or a recharge karne wala app. It compares popular 28-day plans across Jio, Airtel and Vi as of October 2026. It also explains when an operator's own app is better and how a recharge works on Subspace, which also pays DTH, broadband, FASTag and card bills through Bharat BillPay.

What a good recharge app should do
A recharge looks simple, but small gaps cost money or time. Before you settle on an app, check that it does these things:
- Detects the right operator and circle. Plan prices differ by circle, especially on Vi and BSNL. A wrong circle means a wrong plan list.
- Shows the full plan details. You should see data per day, validity, SMS, and notes such as "unlimited 5G for eligible users" before paying.
- States fees up front. Any convenience fee should appear before you confirm.
- Handles failures cleanly. If the operator rejects a recharge, the app should show the status and refund to the original payment method.
- Keeps a history. Past recharges with transaction IDs make disputes easy.
Operator apps (MyJio, Airtel Thanks, Vi app) are best for operator-only features like plan upgrades, add-on packs and account settings. A multi-bill app is better when you also pay electricity, DTH or credit card bills and want them in one place.
Popular 28-day plans across operators
For a 28-day cycle with daily data, prices now cluster between ₹299 and ₹399. The cheapest route to unlimited 5G is a 2GB-a-day plan on Jio or Airtel at ₹349. Vi tags its ₹349 plan with unlimited 5G in the Maharashtra circle. If you only need calls and OTPs, the cheapest 28-day validity plans cost about ₹189–₹199.

How a recharge works on Subspace
Subspace pulls each operator’s current plan list, so the plans you see match what the operator is selling in your circle that day.
- 1Open the Subspace app and tap Mobile recharge.
- 2Enter the number or pick a contact. Check the operator and circle shown.
- 3Browse or search the plan list and open a plan to read data, validity and extras.
- 4Pay by UPI, card or net banking.
- 5The operator confirms by SMS. If a recharge fails, the app shows the status and the refund goes back to your payment method.
Tariff changes and what they mean for your plan
Operators change plan lists without much notice. Airtel replaced its ₹299 plan with ₹349 on 12 August 2026, while Jio kept ₹299. Analysts have forecast a wider 12–15% rise for October to December 2026, but no industry-wide hike was confirmed when we checked.
A plan you've already bought keeps its benefits until it expires. If you expect a hike, a longer-validity plan bought now protects you for longer. Our operator pages go deeper: Jio, Airtel, Vi 5G and BSNL annual plans.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best app for mobile recharge?
The one that shows your operator’s current plans for the right circle, states fees before you pay, refunds failed recharges quickly and keeps a clear history. Operator apps are best for add-ons; a multi-bill app like Subspace also covers DTH, broadband, FASTag and card bills.
Are recharge karne wala apps safe to use?
Use apps from known companies, downloaded from the official app stores, and pay through UPI or cards with your bank’s authentication. Never share an OTP with anyone who calls about a recharge.
Do recharge apps charge a fee?
Some do, especially on certain payment methods. A good app shows any fee before you confirm, so check the final amount on the payment screen.
What if my recharge fails but money is deducted?
Check the recharge status in the app’s history. If the operator rejected it, the amount is refunded to your original payment method. Keep the transaction ID if you need to raise a complaint.
Can I recharge someone else’s number?
Yes. Enter their number, confirm the operator and circle, pick a plan and pay. The plan applies to their number.
Will a tariff hike change a plan I already bought?
No. A plan keeps its benefits until it expires. New prices apply to your next recharge.
