Vi 5G plans: which packs unlock 5G and where it works
Vi (Vodafone Idea) started 5G later than Jio and Airtel. By July 2026 it was live in 225 towns and cities, so the first question is whether your area is covered. If it is, Vi tags its 5G-eligible prepaid plans with "Unlimited 5G" in its plan list. In the Maharashtra circle on 12 October 2026, the cheapest 28-day plan with that tag was ₹349 with 1.5GB a day. ₹399 gave unlimited data all day. This page lists those plans, works out the cost per 28 days of Vi's longer plans, and explains Vi extras like night data and weekend rollover. Plans differ by circle, so check yours in the app.

Where Vi 5G works
Vi said in July 2026 that its 5G service covered 225 towns and cities, and its stated aim is all 17 of its circles during 2026. Cities named in Vi's announcements include Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Chandigarh, Mohali, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Goa, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Panipat, Ambala, Puducherry and Malda. That list is partial, and we couldn't re-verify 2026 status for Mumbai and Delhi.
To check your street, use the network coverage and 5G deployment map on Vi's website, and make sure your phone supports 5G and has it switched on in network settings.
Vi prepaid plans tagged Unlimited 5G
Vi's plans fall into two groups. Daily-data plans (1GB or 1.5GB a day) carry the unlimited 5G tag along with Vi extras such as free night data from midnight to 6am and weekend rollover of unused weekday data. Full-day unlimited plans give unlimited 5G and 4G data all day, with 100 SMS a day.
The ₹399 plan also includes JioHotstar Mobile for 28 days. Outside these lists, some circles have a cheaper ₹210 plan with 1GB a day, but it doesn't include unlimited 5G.

What full-day unlimited costs per 28 days
If you want unlimited data without daily caps, the longer plan is cheaper per month. Vi's own plan cards show this too: the 180-day plan is advertised at about ₹350 per 28 days and the 84-day plan at about ₹366. The 290-day plan is the cheapest per 28 days at about ₹328, but it ties you to Vi for most of a year.
If you mostly use home Wi-Fi, a daily-data plan like ₹349 or ₹479 still gets you 5G on the go for less.

Vi said its 5G covered 225 towns and cities in July 2026, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Indore and Goa. Check Vi’s coverage map for your exact area.
Which Vi plan gives unlimited 5G?
Vi tags eligible plans “Unlimited 5G” in its plan list. In the Maharashtra circle the cheapest 28-day one was ₹349 (1.5GB a day), and ₹399 gave unlimited data all day.
Does Vi charge extra for 5G?
No separate 5G fee appears in Vi’s plan list. 5G comes with plans tagged Unlimited 5G, as long as you have a 5G phone and coverage.
Are Vi plans the same in every circle?
No. Prices and benefits vary by circle. Some circles have plans, such as a ₹210 option with 1GB a day, that others don’t.
What are Vi night data and weekend rollover?
On plans that include them, data used between midnight and 6am doesn’t count against your daily quota, and unused weekday data carries over to Saturday and Sunday.
Which Vi plan suits a heavy data user?
A full-day unlimited plan. In the Maharashtra circle, ₹399 covers 28 days with JioHotstar Mobile, and longer plans cut the cost to about ₹350 per 28 days on 180 days or ₹328 on 290 days.
Do I need a new SIM for Vi 5G?
Vi’s plan list doesn’t ask for a separate 5G plan or fee. If 5G doesn’t show in a covered area, check that your phone supports Vi’s 5G bands and that 5G is switched on in network settings, then ask Vi support about your SIM.
