The company once called TSSPDCL is now Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGSPDCL), after the state's abbreviation changed from TS to TG in 2024. It supplies southern Telangana, including Greater Hyderabad. Every connection has a 9-digit Unique Service Number (USC No.), printed on the bill, which you use on the TGSPDCL web portal for bill enquiry and payment, and in Bharat Connect (BBPS) apps such as Subspace. Bill enquiry and payment on the web portal
The main site, tgsouthernpower.org, hands its consumer services to the web portal at webportal.tgsouthernpower.org. The two pages most people need are:
- Bill Enquiry (LT): under Consumer Services on the main site; enter your 9-digit USC number to see the current bill. HT consumers have a separate enquiry page.
- Pay Bill: opens the portal's Quick Pay page, which also needs only the USC number.
If you register for a consumer account, map your USC number as your primary connection. The account then shows your bills, payments and a 12-month bill history chart.
Why some apps stopped taking TGSPDCL bills in 2024
From 1 July 2024, TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL stopped accepting bills through payment apps and banks, citing RBI's direction that bill payments be routed through the Bharat Bill Payment System. For a few weeks consumers had to use the discoms' own website or app. In August 2024, NPCI Bharat BillPay announced that both Telangana discoms had been added to BBPS, so any Bharat Connect app could take their bills again. That's how Subspace fetches and pays a TGSPDCL bill today: open Electricity, search for TGSPDCL, enter the 9-digit USC number, check the amount and pay by UPI.
Telangana’s domestic tariff and Gruha Jyothi
TGERC's order for 2026-27 puts each home into a sub-category by its total units in the month, and that sub-category sets the rate for every unit. Up to 100 units you pay ₹1.95 and ₹3.10; between 101 and 200 units the rates are ₹3.40 and ₹4.80; above 200 units even the first 200 units cost ₹5.10. A monthly customer charge (₹40 to ₹160) and a fixed charge of ₹10 per kW are added. That's why crossing 100 or 200 units makes a bill jump.
Under the state's Gruha Jyothi scheme, an eligible household gets a zero bill for any month its consumption is up to 200 units. Eligibility needs one domestic connection, an application through Praja Palana, and a white ration card linked to Aadhaar. Delayed payment costs ₹10 a month for homes under 100 units and ₹25 above.
