Cancel Apple Music and other Apple subscriptions on any device

Apple bills two kinds of subscriptions through your Apple Account: its own services (Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, iCloud+, Apple One) and third-party apps you subscribed to through the App Store. All of them are cancelled from the same Subscriptions list, which you can reach from an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows PC or a web browser. Apple Music on Android is the exception if Google Play bills you. Below are Apple's current steps for each device, what happens to your Apple Music library when the subscription ends, how to request a refund on reportaproblem.apple.com, and what to do when the subscription you want to cancel simply isn't listed. Cancel on iPhone or iPad

This works for Apple Music and for any app subscription billed through the App Store.

1Open **Settings** and tap your name.
2Tap **Subscriptions**.
3Tap the subscription you want to stop.
4Tap **Cancel Subscription**. You may need to scroll down. If there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiry message in red text, the subscription is already cancelled.

Cancel on a Mac, Windows PC or the web

Mac: open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar (sign in if asked), click your name again on the page that appears, click Subscriptions, choose the subscription and click Cancel Subscription.

Windows PC: open the Apple Music or Apple TV app, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose View My Account. In the Settings section, click Manage next to Subscriptions, find the subscription, click Edit and then Cancel Subscription.

Apple Music on the web: go to music.apple.com, sign in, click the My Account icon, choose Settings, scroll to Subscriptions, choose Manage and then Cancel Subscription. Any other Apple subscription can be cancelled at account.apple.com.

What happens to your Apple Music library

When an Apple Music subscription expires, you can no longer play songs from the Apple Music catalogue, and playlists you added from it or built with catalogue songs stop working. Sync Library turns off. Music and playlists that were on your device before you subscribed stay available.

If you're on a free trial, Apple's advice is to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you don't want it to renew. If you joined through a mobile operator or another provider, cancel with that provider.

Request a refund from Apple

Some App Store and Apple service purchases qualify for a refund. Apple reviews each request; eligibility varies by country.

1Sign in to reportaproblem.apple.com.
2Choose **I’d like to**, then **Request a refund**.
3Pick the reason and choose **Next**.
4Select the subscription or item and choose **Submit**. Apple usually updates you in 24 to 48 hours.

If you can’t find the subscription to cancel

Search your email for “receipt from Apple” or “invoice from Apple” and check which Apple Account appears on the receipt. If it's a family member's account, only they can cancel it. If it's another Apple Account you own, sign in with that one. No Apple receipt at all usually means another company bills you, so check your bank or card statement and contact that company.
