Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Ltd (MVVNL) supplies electricity across central Uttar Pradesh from its head office in Lucknow. Its area runs from Lucknow, Barabanki and Rae Bareli up to Bareilly, Pilibhit and Lakhimpur, and east to Ayodhya and Gonda. Like the other UP discoms, MVVNL bills through the common UPPCL portal, and each connection has a 10-digit account ID. That ID is enough to check the amount due, download the bill or pay it through any Bharat Connect (BBPS) app, including Subspace. Check your MVVNL bill in three steps
The quickest official route is the UPPCL consumer portal, which MVVNL links from mvvnl.in under Consumer Services → Bill Payment.
- 1Open consumer.uppcl.org and choose the bill-payment option.
- 2Enter your 10-digit account ID (older 12-digit rural numbers are mapped to the new ID).
- 3See the amount due, then use View Bill or Download Bill for the PDF, or Bill Payment History for past payments.

How the subsidy shapes an MVVNL bill
MVVNL bills homes under the same LMV-1 tariff as every UP state discom. The interesting part is how far below cost it sits. The regulator's cost-based rate for an urban home is ₹7.35 a unit, but a cross-subsidy adjustment brings what you pay down to ₹5.50 up to 150 units, ₹6.00 for 151–300 and ₹6.50 above 300. Lifeline consumers, with a 1 kW load and up to 100 units a month, pay just ₹3.00 after a government subsidy. The urban fixed charge is ₹110 per kW per month, and rural homes pay less on both counts.
So for a Lucknow flat, staying under 150 units a month keeps you on the lowest urban rate; your bill shows the slab working MVVNL applied. Prepaid-meter consumers get 2% off the rate. Late payment costs 1.25% a month for the first three months, then 2%.

Paying an MVVNL bill
You can pay on the UPPCL portal by card, UPI or net banking, at MVVNL's collection counters, or through a Bharat Connect app. On Subspace, search for MVVNL (Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam), enter the 10-digit account ID, confirm the name and amount, and pay by UPI. The payment is reported to UPPCL's billing system through Bharat Connect, and the app keeps the account ID for next time.
