HP Gas online booking: numbers, apps and what to keep ready

Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) lists nine ways to book an HP Gas refill. The three you can use from any phone are the HP Anytime IVRS on 88888 23456, a missed call to 94936 02222 and WhatsApp on 92222 01122, all from the mobile number registered with your connection. The rest are apps and counters: HP Pay, UMANG, myhpgas.in, Common Service Centres, your distributor, and Bharat BillPay apps such as Subspace, where booking and payment happen together. This guide covers each channel, what to do when the booking SMS doesn’t arrive, and what a refill costs you after subsidy.

Booking by missed call or WhatsApp

HPCL’s booking page says to send “Hi” on WhatsApp; its FAQ mentions the keyword “Book”. Either starts the booking flow from a registered number. Oil companies send SMS updates at booking, cash memo generation and delivery, which is how you know the request went through.

  1. 1Use the mobile number registered with your HP Gas connection.
  2. 2For a missed call, dial 94936 02222 and let it disconnect. For WhatsApp, send “Hi” (or “Book”) to 92222 01122.
  3. 3Wait for the booking confirmation SMS with the order details.
  4. 4When the cash memo SMS arrives with the amount and delivery code, keep the code ready for the delivery person.
  5. 5If no confirmation SMS arrives, check the order in HP Pay or on myhpgas.in before booking again, so you don’t place a duplicate order.

Booking and paying on Subspace

HPCL names BBPS-enabled apps among its booking options, and Subspace is a BBPS app. The request goes to HPCL and your distributor; Subspace takes the payment and gives you a receipt. Subspace isn’t HPCL or an HP Gas distributor, so connection changes, delivery and leaks stay with HPCL.

  1. 1Open Subspace and tap Bills, then Gas/LPG.
  2. 2Select HP Gas as the provider.
  3. 3Enter the identifier the form asks for, such as your registered mobile number or consumer number.
  4. 4Check the refill amount and pay by UPI, card or net banking.
  5. 5Track the booking through HP Gas’s SMS updates.

What an HP Gas refill costs after subsidy

At delivery everyone pays the same price for a 14.2 kg domestic refill: ₹942 in Delhi, ₹941.50 in Mumbai and ₹944.50 in Bengaluru, unchanged since 7 June 2026. Households with a Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connection then get ₹300 per refill back as a direct benefit transfer, for the number of refills the government allows that year.

Since 1 October 2026, a subsidised domestic refill can be booked at the regulated price only once your connection has passed biometric Aadhaar authentication. HP Gas customers can do this in the HP Pay app, at the distributor, or with the delivery person; see LPG e-KYC online.

Safety and complaints

If you smell gas, turn off the regulator, open the windows, don’t switch on lights or appliances, and call 1906, the all-India LPG emergency helpline that covers HP Gas, Indane and Bharatgas. For billing, delivery or booking complaints, HPCL lists 1800-2333-555 as its LPG grievance line. Never share the delivery code with a caller; it is meant for the person handing over the cylinder.
